What do you think about women that do not wear earrings at all?

I'm a 29 year old woman with a professional job, but I'm looking to move up. I dress professionally, I wear my hair up in french twists (real nice and clean--not with jaw clips), I wear nice shoes.

But the only jewelry I wear is my wedding ring and occasionally a watch ($50.00 watch I bought at Kohls). I had my ears pierced once when I was a lil kid, but was such a tomboy, I let the holes close.

What should I add to look professional? Are earrings necessary? One isn't frowned upon, are they?

Earrings certainly complete a professional look, giving it a certain polish.

But I don't think the presence or absence of earrings is going to affect your career. I would invest in some simple clip on pearls, and see what happens. Depending on your industry, it may make for a better "package" to put on some earrings for presentations or special work events. I seriously doubt anyone is going to judge either way, however.

Personally, with a real French twist, some little pearl screwback earrings would give it a nice touch!

yeah earrings are very professional for a woman to wear that has a professional job!

Absolutely not...however if you are thinking about moving up...keep it simple...studs or really small hoops...i wear those huge hoops and get compliments on them all the time...whats in now are the hoops with the diamonds around them...they come in all sizes...but start small and see what u like.

I dont think anyone has to wear earrings to be considered a woman or "professional". If someone doesn't wear earrings then it's their choice, it's not a bad thing. I also don't think wearing earrings would be frowned upon either at the work place, as long as they are casual and not something crazy--like dice earrings or something wild like that.

I feel naked without earrings but it's just a personal preference. It does jazz up an outfit though.

This is really a matter of personal preference. A woman in the work place does not have to wear jewelry to look professional. If you want to try it for a week, invest in a pair of comfortable clip ons or screwback earrings and see if anyone notices. Then you can decide if it's right for you.

As a professional person, I only notice earrings when there are more than one in an ear, are dangly (inch or more), or large hoops. It draws attention to the person and invites wandering thoughts outside the realm of business (thoughts only, not judgemental statements).
