They are domestic long hairs. 1.5 yrs old. I can bathe them, clean their ears, I can clip their nails and I can brush them. I need to learn how to give a "sanitary shave" or whatever it is called. What type of shaver/grooming instrument do you use? First and only time my cats went to groomers one of them got all bloody paws trying to claw her way out of the dryer cage and they just let her, they are not going back to the groomers. Thanks for any tips or web sites with detailed instructions
Any groomers out there? How do I trim the hair around my cats anus like the groomers do?
they sell grooming items for hair trimming at local pet stores, i love pet smart items, i trim mine by raising his tail and a firm hold around him, it only takes a cpl seconds

I really suggest you not try. You can do a walk-in appointment at a vet or groomer and just have the sanitary shave done without stressing them with the other stuff. Clippers are VERY dangerous and cat skin is extremely delicate. You could seriously injure them. You have to know exactly how to hold the clippers, where to aim the blade, which directions to go in, etc. The blades get hot quickly and can burn your cat's skin. Even professionals often make mistakes, especially with cats. You're taking a serious risk trying to do this yourself.
The only clippers that will even cut hair decently cost at least $200. The $20 kits you can get at the store don't even work. Scissors are totally out of the question. I really urge you to just take them in for a quick sanitary shave as needed, by a professional.
