Last night I dyed my hair. I cleaned everything up. I put a clip that i used when my hair was full of hair dye in the garbage can. I normally keep my bath room door shut. But i was cleaning my house and forgot to shut it behind me. my one year got into the bath room and was playing with the clip. She was only in the bathroom for a minute. but she had hair dye on her fingers and cheek. I don't know if she put the clip in her mouth or not. I washed her face. And her hands. And tryed to rinse her mouth out with water. What should i do. Very scared. She is acting fine.

I would call the pediatrician and ask their opinion. Some types of hair dye has harsh chemicals. It's best to check it out even if she is acting fine!

Consult the box and call to see what they say. Also call your Pediatrician. They probably will not have you rush her in but will tell you what signs you need to watch for that will signal she needs to be seen.

its probably fine, but its ok to call if it will make you feel better. they are very nice and helpful. even if youre not sure if she got any in her mouth, they will tell you what to look for, and what to do if.

I believe that most of the active chemicals in the dye would have been deactivated over that time period but you should err on the side of caution. Ring the number on the dye box or call a poison centre on their non emergency number to be on the safe side.
