My boyfriend ask me to wear my hair down for our next date. I see him about twice a month because we are both in college in diverse cities. It just came up in a conversation. I felt like he should be pleased no matter how I wear my hair.

(I have lone, flowing black hair) and sometimes I put it in a clip or pony tail and he says he likes it down, but it's my hair. There are times when I wear it down for our dates, but I was wondering what other ladies would say. Is this normal? Is this a form of control?

Hes just being open! Communication is a good thing. He likes your hair down, so telling you is the obvious thing. Its really no big deal. It sounds like you are very independent and controlling. its both a compliment and request, NOT a big deal at all. Its the samething if you asked him to wear that specific cologne or to wear black pants because you think they r sexy.

I think you are overreacting here. I would think it's nice of my bf to take notice and care how I wear my hair. And I would enjoy him giving me tips instead of me guessing what he likes or turns him on.

I think you should relax and let your hair down. Literally.

it's not necessarily a form of control, just a preference of his. and since you only see him like twice a month, you might wanna give in, make him happier with the time you have with eachother

he thinks you look pretty with your hair down. he's just trying to compliment you and it's a good thing. one of my boyfriends said that to me and we dated for a long time. don't worry about it, and no, he's not trying to be controling

That's not a form of control unless you feel like he's asking you to do something you don't like. In your case, it does not seem to be a major issue since you've done it before. He's just trying to tell you that he loves to see your "lone, flowing black hair" down. If he didn't say that you look bad with your hair pinned up, then don't worry about it. But do ask him if it bothers him when you pin it, then you'll know.

Try not to make a big deal out of it. Men are not very cautious with their comments, but they mean no harm...most of the time. Plus it means that he actually pays attention to the way you wear your hair. My boyfriend is like that too and it doesn't bother me at all....I actually go to him for hair style advice!

I know I'm a guy, so my opinion is slanted, but I don't think it's a form of control. If he said he only loves you when your hair is down, then yes, he's controlling, but really he's just trying to pay you a compliment (in a guy way).

For example, if he told you that you looked cute in a shirt or a pair of pants, would you be offended? Does that mean you don't look good in other clothes that you wear around him? Of course not. He just likes that outfit on you. Likewise, he thinks you look cute with your hair down.

And as a side not to all girls who may read this, we love your hair. But wearing your hair down is always the sexiest way to go. You have complete control over us at that point.
